Batiks and Shibori 

While running a community project in Cambodia I visited Malaysia, participating in batik workshops, where I purchased dyes which I took home & experimented, slowly developing the skills and techniques I now use to create my paintings.
A trip to Lao introduced me to indigo dyeing, this followed a trip to Kuala Lumper where the National Textiles Musuem was running a workshop with a visiting Japanese expert on Shibori, I was hooked!
Although different techniques both use resists to create barriers and block out colour.
